Tacurong City Mayor Lina O. Montilla receives the award for Best Prepared City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) during the 2013 Regional Gawad KALASAG awarding ceremonies conducted on August 6, 2013 at Sun City Suites, General Santos City. The Regional DRRMC and Office of the Civil Defense XII also recognized the Tacurong City Responsive Assistance and Coordinated Emergency Response (TRACER) as the Best Prepared Volunteer group in Region XII. In 2012, TRACER was awarded as the 3rd Best Volunteer Organization in the country by the National DRRMC. This year, TRACER once again advanced to the National GAwad KALASAG-Best Volunteer Organization Category. Gawad KALASAG was initiated in 1998 to recognize excellence on DRRM and humanitarian assistance.
