ISULAN, SULTAN KUDARAT, March 2 (PIA) – The Civil Service Commission cited Tacurong City in Sultan Kudarat as one of the six (6) performing local government units in the country for the year 2010.
The City Government of Tacurong. Sultan Kudarat garnered a rating of 85.11 (very good) which qualified the said LGU to receive the Citizen’s Satisfaction Center Seal of Excellence Award based on a client satisfaction survey.
The other recipients of the Seal of Excellence Award, according to the Civil Service Commission, are the provincial government of Compostela Valley with a rating of 95.5% (outstanding), city government of Mati, Davao Oriental, 87.15 (very good); city government of Borongan, Eastern Samar, 83.86% (very good); municipal government of Burauen, Leyte , 81.88% (very good); and provincial government of Camarines Sur, 81.14% (very good).
CSC Sultan Kudarat Director Ma. Josefina Gepte Buenbrazo said the city government of Tacurong received a wall mountable seal bearing the seal of excellence award along with a cash award of Php 50,000. Buenbrazo also said the CSC conducted a Report Card Survey in August, 2010 in Tacurong City which is one of the requirements under Republic Act No. 9485 or the Anti Red Tape Act (ARTA) of 2007.
Tacurong City, she continued, was included in the first phase – pilot areas of the implementation along with the other local government units and other 10 national government agencies in the National Capital Region. The second phase will cover additional local government units and national government agencies, Buenbrazo added.
In the Report Card Survey, researchers asked newly served clients to rate the services of the city government, explained the Sultan Kudarat CSC officer. The client, she said, was given a questionnaire and a checklist of tools to rate the LGU in terms of compliance with the following ARTA requirements: presence of Citizen’s Charter, Anti-Fixer Campaign materials and help desk and implementation of “No Lunch Break” policy.
In addition to the ARTA requirements, the city government of Tacurong was evaluated on client satisfaction of quality service, time of completion of the transaction, physical setup of the office which includes signage/directions, accessibility esp. for persons with disabilities, cleanliness and orderliness, lighting, ventilation and layout, the CSC provincial director disclosed.
Likewise, the CSC requires the availability of basic facilities such as comfort room, canteen, waiting area, and facilities for pregnant women, PWDs and the elderly. (OTS/PIA 12)
